“After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” / But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.”
Genesis 15:1, Psalm 3:3 · World English Bible
The God who covers and defends. The shield that goes before you, around you, behind you.
'Fear not, Abram, I am your shield,' God said before any battle had been fought. Your protection is not in your wisdom or your defenses — it is in Him. He stands between you and what would harm you.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer, present your requests to God."
Four small steps. Don't try to do all of them. Pick one. Do it today.
"What is the worst that could happen?" Write it. Anxiety loses half its power when dragged into the light. The unnamed dread is the loudest.
Take the fear and write next to it one thing that is true about God — a name, a promise, a remembered faithfulness. Truth louder than fear.
Four counts in. Six counts out. Repeat for two minutes. Your body believes what it practices. Teach it peace.
